Hello there!
I'm a newbie here, so bear with me!
I've got two Peugeots - one's a 1993 405 1.6GL saloon and the other's a 1983 505 2.5GLD, also a saloon.
I've not seen another 505 saloon round where I live (Southport) since I bought it and I'm fairly sure that it must be one of the oldest left - though that might not last as the front n/s suspension leg collapsed over the weekend and I'm having serious trouble finding a new part.
Anyway, just wanted to say how enjoyable I find driving my 505 - loads of torque, loads of room and really, really comfy seats! I just hope that I can get her repaired!
Happy motoring to you all!
Cheers
Rob

Hello and welcome. the 505 is becoming quite a rare car now, but it has a strong following. sadly the fate of your suspension is a common one, another forum member suffered the same problem a while back. There are several options www.peugeotparts.co.uk - Deran Hunter, new old stock but you will have to pay! breakers yards - hard to find any 505's in them these days There are three 505 parts cars going free to a good home in the for sale section of the main CPUk website www.clubpeugeotuk.org/general/for_salewanted.htmlCPUK member Mike Tyres may have the part, his contact details are also in the for sale wanted section regards Andrew

Many thanks for that Andrew.
Dean has replied that he has the part available so I'll be contacting him shortly!
I'd thought about buying a spares or repair car but unfortunately I don't have room to store it.
Thanks again for your very warm welcome. When she's fixed, I'll try to post some pictures of her. Not very technically minded you see - you'll probably end up seeing pictures of my gran on the seafront at Morecambe!
Cheers!

When you re-assemble be sure to coat it with plenty of waxoyl or similar. It might be worth taking both sided out and putting new new front shocks and getting a chance to rust proof the otherside before you have to go through it all again. The shocks are inserts and not very expensive and will be available from a good motor factor.

Thanks for your help chaps. She's now back on the road and driving better than ever! Thanks to Dean for his speedy service and advice, and to 504 for his helpful tips which, sadly, I only saw after the car had been put back together! Always the way, isn't it?
I'll definitely be joining the club in the near future as this has proved to me what a valuable resource it is. I'll also try to post some pictures this weekend.
Thanks again to all who helped.
Cheers, Rob.
