Hi, i have recently gotten hold of a 106 xn 1.1 and it seems to rev irraticaly when at a standstill and when in slow moving traffic it kind of kangaroo's down the road. It has had a full service only 6 months ago and i just wondered if anyone had any helpfull hints, tips or ideas as to what this could be down to?
I am going to put on a new fuel filter tomorrow and i hope that would do it, but any advice would be greatly received.

check for leaks in the intake, leaks in the exhaust, coilpack, leads, plugs. theres lots thhat can cause it if you can, get it on a diagnostics machine and see what that brings up

There is a blow in the exhaust, not too sure where abouts though, and how would i check the intake? Is it a case of just looking for dodgy hoses/couplings? Thanks again.

Cool, i have looked at everything on the top side of the engine and it all seems ok. Also i took the airbox and relevant pipes apart along with the top of the throttle housing and that was remarkably clean. As for the exhaust, it is definately leaking so i will see if i can find out where tomoz.
Thanks for the advice, but do you know of any possible reasons as to why the car is juddering when i pull away in first? Or could it be due to the other problem???
Cheers

could be an enine mount away causing a loss of power and 'juddering' as you try to pull away hard, but i'd get the exhaust sorted and see what diffrence that makes before you investigate further

yes i got that but i think he may have meant the juddering, although i need to check the plugs, leads, coil etc. I'm not exectly an idiot when it comes to cars, just i don't know much about the 106. Ceers anyway for the heads up, and for any further advice you may leave for me in the future. Ta

no mate far from perfect, although i can spell "engine"! and done call me a bastard, no need to get personal. if you want to be funny chompy i can invite you down to my dealers workshop for the day and see if you could keep up with working with me? im the master tech there and have 12 years factory training so i do know what im doing. what do you do for a living and just out of curiousity how old are you? as your an argumentitive little c### somtimes! depending on what year it is theboyznoz it could be the lambda probe in the exhaust going down or the coil/distributer on its way out. as for the juddering when pulling away in first sounds like the clutch is juddering.
