hi i need help! this my girlfriends car, and its just failed its mot! the rear drums a funked! one side grabs and the other side does nothing! also the tester said the front brakes are only working because of the abs... i dont understand how that is but he says its related to an electrical problem that she has.
the problem is the leccy windows stopped working, along with the rear wiper, coutesy light and the clock. the battery light is now comes on if she initially revs the engine otherwise it almost stalls! i tried the 15amp fuse and it keeps popping the funker! ive checked the alternator belts and tested the alternater (14.2v) and the battery (12.7v).
i know naff all about pugs as my love lies with nissan. any help will be much appreciated!
cheers guys!

You gotta have the drums off on the rear for a look. Likely cause is a combination of inbuilt grot on the shoes seizing them in place, and/or a seized wheel cylinder.
Not sure what the mOT tester has been smoking - the ABS system just sits there passively until it activates, then it pulses pressure through the brake lines to p[rovide braking, but not long enough for a wheel to lock. Your lady would know if teh ABS was firing, cos it sounds like a muted machine gun going off in the footwell. Get the fronts inspected to be sure, but if the brake efficency and balance are ok on the front, there can't be much wrong.
Electrical problems, despite the legends, are really not common on pugs to any degree these days. Check the basics. 1) fueses - the clock and interior light could well be onthe sme circuit. 2) Whip the door card off and get a multimeter on the loom where it enters the electric window motor/regulator - if there's a signal, the motors at fault. If there's no signal, the wiring/switch/relay could be at fault. c) Rear wiper - pretty much ditto the windo, but youmight be able to strip the motor to some degree.
i used to mend Nissans for a living, and feel very sympathetic about your Nissan illness. A few more pug miles and you'll feel a lot better. if you drive a P10 primera, as possibly per your username, you have some baaad times ahead!
Good luck.
