Date of manufacture

This is a copy of a message in the '04 section that I hoped someone might be able to help with;

I've tried contating the Peugeot museum for chassis number date confirmation but have received no reply, can anyone confirm the correct address to contact and whether there is any charge for the service. I tried contacting in French and English, by post and e-mail, still no reply, would the club be willing to contact on my behalf? I have two 304's, both in poor condition, only one roadworthy at the moment but proof of date of manufacture could help with emissions test and possibly car tax exemption.
There's a Peugeot website which lists the general dates of production but not the exact date for a specific chassis number.
I would be very grateful for any suggestions.

they have deaf ears most of the time, its a shame Peugeot didn't have the same level of pride as Heritage Motoring Centre at Gaydon.
