Hello All users of this forum:
I am the proud owner of a 405 STTD Diesel Estate in Silver L reg, regrettably the car failed its MOT the other week mainly down to two areas of rust around passenger side rear strut and passenger side front sub frame support, also the cracked windscreen did not help matters. Anyway I am now going to break the car for spares to see if I can recoup some of the money I spent on it over the last couple of years. My idea is that everyone can email me and I will give them a price for whatever they are after then I shall strip the car over Christmas and everyone can meet at pub near my place and exchange parts/cash and go for a beer afterwards.
Some info on the major bits,
1... the cylinder head was replaced on the engine by me last year, its the later type with the direct drive to the pump and I took the time to re-shim the cam followers also, to be honest its a belting engine and splitting the head off it would be a crime. The water pump housing gasket needs replacing as I know I lose a tiny amount of water from that area and if someone were to take the entire engine then its best that they do that at that time.
2...I have at least 5 alloy harrier wheels on the car, 1 brand new tyre (spare) and 4 part worn (300 miles approx), I bought them thinking the car would fly through the MOT, more fool me.I have another couple of alloys lying around that will be selling also, tyes are worn though, also harriers
3.. Gearbox is sound and I have never had to touch it
4...This car has electric everything though I dont know if the drivers front window motor works as I have never replaced the switch.
5...here is no air con on this model, and I think Peter Fogg will be wanting the chromed roof rails so they might not be up for grabs.
6..Foglights, again never wired them up but see know reason why they would not just require bulbs
7.. Radio and Clarion CD multichanger
IN ADDITION (yes there is more)
I also have two car sets of lights (front and rear)stripped from other 405 estates, a set of central locking mechanisms, the two belt driven pumps from the crank end of the cam shaft (power steering and water I think),wiper arms, other assorted knick knacks.
Please email me at anhj_99@yahoo.com and I will start creating a list of interested people and what they want so that I dont sell the same thing twice. I will ask a fair price for whatever items you are after but once you commit to buying its off the list as sold, its not an auction .
Regards
Alistair
ps: I am based in Nantwich, Cheshire, England and it would be here that the meeting would be.
