So YOUR the person who bought one then! ;-)
We quite liked the one Peugeot lent us to test, the kids liked the doors especially and the sat nav though I think a tom tom is a better system.
The load space is quite restricted and the sill is too high but it is a fun and funky motor, more lifestyle than practical I'd say. I understand you can get some sweet bargains from Peugeot on dealer stock.

yes we did we have 2 kids and we have plenty of space as it can change, but what we did notice was that when u r going up a hill and r in 1st going 2 2nd is a pain as its slow, u feel like getting out and pushing it up the hill but, every1 loves the doors we r certainly getting noticed more than our last car.

Yes, but better not to keep them too long, depreciation will be worse than that of Polonez cars... Peugeot dealers don't even want to take them back in France!

It's because of depreciation that I bought it. It is a pre-reg 07 model, cost me £6495. It has air-con, esp, sliding doors, remote central door locking, CD with stalk steering control, Cameleo changing kit etc. The sliding doors were a major factor, as I have to leave for work and usually have both my hands full with paper work etc. With the 1007 I can open the doors from the porch, put my stuff inside and it is a boon in the rain. I think the complain that the doors are slow are rather hollow, any faster and they would be dangerous.
You wont find a "new" car (mine had 10 miles) at that price and spec, unless you go for a Perodua. There is a 3-Door Hyundai getz on offer at the moment, but that doesn't even give you Remote centrol door locking. It's also the little things - On the Hyundai it doesnt come with front fogs bit a circular black blanking plate while the Peugeot does, and I like the look of the 1007.
Providing regular maintenance with a pot of grease and electical contact cleaner for the sliding doors, I hope to keep it for a while.

We found that the doors were fine. You just had to adjust your behaviour. With a normal car you walk up to it... and open the doors, instant. Do this with a 1007 and it does get a bit tiresome, however if you plip the doors open as you leave the house then they are open and waiting when you get to the car.
Depreciation has made them a total bargain though. Ours ( a press fleet demo car) retailed at nearly £16,000 (with all the toys) which is insane for a small car. At £6495 its a real bargain. As you say the competition are all cheap and cheerful Korean cars.
Expect only a few hundred quid for it from the dealer when you come to change though. Still pretty cheap motoring though.

What a welcome I have recieved from this forum. Sarcasm, derogatry comments, I thought this was supposed to be a place for Peugeot owners, not to have insults thrown at.
Obviously I was wrong, sorry to share info about my new car.

not every car is to everyones taste, what you like someone else wont. i personatly dont i think there horid and i have to fix them day in day out. and you shouldnt be using normal grease on the door sliders you should be using special grease from peugeot. cause if not the runners will pick up dust and scratch them which isnt good for future use. i cant remember the part number but i will found it out 2moro

Obviously I was wrong, sorry to share info about my new car. I don't think anyone has insulted you Yoshi. Sorry if you've been offended. The 1007 is just one of those love or hate it cars and everyone has an opinion on them. Having driven one for a road test review I like them more than I did before I had to live with one, Frank on the other hand experiences the other side of the coin, which colours his view. I don't think there's any doubt that they represent fantastic value, if only because Peugeot is finding it so hard to sell them, so, if you like your car great. Other Pug models also come in for some stick on the forum including the 406 coupe (despite it's looks, for it's shocking reliability, the 307 for it's awful build quality. Despite that we all stick with the marque and love our own cars and whatever the model you can normally find all the advice you need should you have a problem. Stick with it and chin out.

if you look at it your way yoshi its a good car at a great price ill give you that, the 1007 isnt the only peugeot car i dont like i dont like the 307 for its built quality, but we have a 307 estate for the kids and i can fix it cheaply due to working at a dealer, ive worked at the dealer since i left school and love the older stuff. as there so much more reliable. the one bit of advice i will give you though is that when it is 3 years old buy a peugeot extended warranty. this will save you loads of cash if it does go wrong. but seriously enjoy owning a pug, theyve all got a lot to offer.
