Thank you for some practical advice. I will definitely get the extended warranty.
Frank, if you culd advise me on the maintenance of the sliding doors, it would be appreciated.

Hi Yoshi & all
- thought I'd put my name to the 1007 owners list 'round here!
I'm 37, a bloke, who shut in a high powered (read; sports suspension=back ache!) TDI for my ickle doubleOO 1.6 Sport - and I love the thing!!! and again got a bargain.... £5.5k for a 06 with 5000 on the clock - I didn't buy it because of the doors I bought it because I like how it drives, it can be nippy when needed and nice & relaxed when not - I also think it looks cool (Aegean Blue helps) and I dig the flappy paddles too! ;D
The 1007 is not for people who are shy retiring types - if u have one EVERYONE looks, but I'm either thick skinned or maybe just a little bit of a a show off so don't mind the smiles and the 'what the ****'s'.
I also recommend Electrical Contact Cleaner, no flying open problems so far! - re: the grease, my Pug dealer used 'white grease' spray on the bottom of the door mechanism/catch after I took it in the other day 'casue it were creaking a little too much - didn't spray it in the runner along the bottom though so maybe that's not the grease Frank eluded to?
I'm very happy with the 1007 but I think I'll also take Frank's advise & go for an extended warranty when the time comes - them doors would cost a fortune to sort I know.

Frank,
I'd be interested in what sort of common problems you encounter with the 1007 - is it just the doors you find that u'r fixing day in day out? or are there other problems us 1007 owners should be on the look out for?
I only have a two small niggles, one is I feel the car isn't tracking dead centre, there's a slight pull to the left I feel, checked tyre pressures etc, all ok....have u any ideas beyond last owner smacking a kerb and knocking the tracking out? the one other thing is a slight brake squeal I notice whilst in town - also I read somewhere that there is a software update for the semi-auto gearbox available from the dealer - can't say I have had any problems with the gear changes on the auto box (old school here - I lift slightly when I want it to change and not just plough on creating a jerk!) - I presume the update is available under warranty but would I find any advantages to having it done, better fuel economy perhaps?
Any advice greatly appreciated.
PS: Don't suppose you know if a PDR guy (ding remover) could get access via the top half of the sliding door with the window down? i.e without taking door panels off - some d**k dinged my passenger door the other day was all and I've seen the ding guys working at my Pug dealer in the past, just wondered.

i will look up the pat number for the grease 2moro as ive forgoten all about it, sorry. as for looking out for problems at work its alsorts from the doors to the flappy gearselector, and the normal crappy peugeot wiring. if you have the tracking checked and its ok, try swaping the wheels on the front side to side.
