What is the general opinion of additives to the fuel system for cleansing of the injectors for example.
Are they worth the risks, do they help or hinder the correct functioning of the engine?

Like redex? Fine if used once in a while as per dosage. Don't recommend sticking it down the plugholes tho unless you want to know once and for all how good your rings are!  Wouldn't want any of the supposed power boosters anywhere near an engine i was going to have to fix! - Possibly unjust paranoia on my part tho. careful with solvents like carb/injector cleaner into the air intake tho. Again, once in a while as per instructions is fine and beneficial, but much, much too heavy handed use too often can begin premature damage to gaskets etc. |
