VIN

I have a new 207SE, which was sold to me as a 1.6 (120BHP) with the new BMW engine on board. However, I have now noticed that the label on the driver's pillar says that the car is a 1.4 (90BHP) model.
I can get no info from Peugeot aftersales regarding this discrepancy and the dealer is ignoring my emails.

Question 1 - Is there a simple fool-proof way of determining which model of engine is fitted to my car?

Question 2 - Where can I find information which would allow me to decipher the Vehicle Identification Code?

i checked today and it is infact a 1.6 120bhp 207 in red with an ep6 motor not a 1.4, ok

i work at a peugeot dealer, and found it on the central computer. the only thing i cant tell you is your adress and name

So that I won't have to bother you in future, is there a source, which is open to the public, so that I can decipher the VIN of any future Peugeots that I buy.
Also, when you say the "central computer", do you mean Peugeot's computer or the computer at 'DVLA'

peugeots computer, there probably is one out there somwhere, i wouldnt know where youll find it though, we hve charts at work so we can work it out but dont use them.

I'd be interested in having one of those charts for the 207 range, for future use - are they available to the General Public?
