Can anyone help? I've recently acquired a 2004 407 2.2 petrol which shows up a 'depollution fault' which has been confirmed by an electronic diagnostics check.
The diagnostics revealed an error with the map sensor but the problem is random being activated by temperature (external not engine), acceleration and bumpy ground. Sometimes the error stays on the OBC othertimes it clears itself.
I have just had a new map sensor fitted but the problem has returned immediately. Does anyone have any clues?
I'm led to believe that this is a common problem on diesels and an expensive one to repair but no-one seems to have encountered the problem with a petrol engined 407. Asides from the warning light and being a little sluggish pulling off, the car runs fine.

Had this on a 207 Sport petrol.
Dealer reprogrammed something and reset something, didn;t make any difference, it came back the next morning.
Took it back to the delaer a week later..
Refilled with fresh petrol on the way from a BP motorway gas station as opposed to my small local backwoods garage..
Dealer couldn't find any fault and it's been OK ever since.
I think it was a tank full of dodgy petrol....
Try running the tank down and go to a garage with has frequent fresh stock of fuel and then see how you get on.
Jim.
