Hey guys...just bought (awaiting delivery) a 307 2.0 HDi (01) and looking to whack a cd changer in the boot. The head unit is the factory fitted cassete playing one and my query is.... do all 307s have the lead in the boot to simply connect the new changer into...Or, will I have to route a new cable to the head unit up front? If this were the case then I would probably just buy a new after market unit and slap that in. Which leads me to my second question......Whats the compatibility like with new stereos and the remote control stalks. Ie- will only Blaupunkt stereos work?!
Any advice would be gladly received. Thanks,
Carl

you can buy a factory fit 5 disc one that goes in the slot under the radio, you will also need the conector lead to go with it, the player does look quite good sat under it and not out of place. last time i looked they where around the 300 quid mark. if you remove the old stereo and fit an aftermarket one then the screen defaults to the time and date only. if i remember sonys will work with your stalks with an interface.

i've got the factory cd changer but it's buggered - won't load some cds, goes dead while changing discs after about an hour but i agree - it looks good in the dash. Most aftermarket head unit manufacturers make interface boxes for the stalk controls, no experience of them tho. www.alpinecaraudio.co.uk/steering-interfaces-peugeot-c-30_39.html for example - not cheap - you need a loom for £15 and the box for £60 - ouch! kenwood 2nd item £45 here: www.justkenwood.co.uk/install/show_model.asp?id=190Is it possible to retain the fuel/trip computer functionality? If not, I'm mulling over getting something to plug an ipod into - the denison kits look good (behaves like a changer) - anyone got experience? i may replace the speakers while I'm at it, with a component set since there are cross-overs in the head unit. Can anyone enlighten me as to the door + rear sizes? it's a 3 dr btw.
