Please be aware that you may be approached by scammers through the forum who are not club members and have registered as forum members. Since advertising my 304 S on the website I have been inundated with scam emails all in bad english, almost identical and claiming to be from different yahoo email accounts. I have recently received the same contact via the forum from a member 'shelley' claiming to be offering me everything 'on return of best price and pictures I will make immediate payment'.
Will those of you have administrator access please vet new members more thoroughly as I would hate to hear of a other members being approached and this manner and falling into the trap laid for them.

Moderating board members is hard since the details required to join the board are essentially non checkable. Nearly all the scammers hit every single advertiser on the CPUK cars for sale section, just as they hit every website nad forum on the internet. They are an irradicable pestilence. The best way to combat them is vigilance and caution, assume that any offer that is too good to be true, is too good to be true and that any offer that does not ring true, is not true. Genuine sellers usually come across quite different to a scammer.
If a registered board member has contacted you in this manner they will be immediately banned. If you have any contact details for this member can you send them to me via a PM or via my e-mail address (web@clubpeugeotuk.org) so I can check them against the listed member detaisl and take appropriate action.
If this continues to be a problem we can switch the forum registration from automatic registration to having an activation/confirmation mail sent out.
We'll be watching out.
