I have recently taken delivery of a 407SW GT. I have quite a story to tell about the shoddy way the dealer sold me the car, but anyway, it has a damaged colour screen which is regarded as wear and tear - does anybody know if I can get a new colour screen for less than 420+VAT?
I am probably going to have to replace a couple of other trim items (one rear head rest, rear parcel shelf for starters) - any ideas on cheapest source for new parts?
Secondly, I have a dreadful rattling noise coming from the rear when going over uneven surfaces. It sounds like it's coming from the boot area and inside the car (so discounting exhaust/heat shield) my dealer started off with the classic "they all do that sir" but has fiddled with it and made it slightly better. I guess I've got to locate the source of the problem but wonder if anybody else has had similar problems.

itll be the rear screen in the tailgate rattling, try packing the screen out with some foam, and your dealer was right they do all do it. and as for the rt4 screen you cant get them anyway else, and itll have to be programed

I had what sounds like the same rattle my SW went back to dealer 6 times they couldn't find the rattle, i traced it to the rear seat retaining clip. the best way to confirm it is to drive over bumpy ground if you hear the rattle pull the leaver to release rear seat pull it forward a few inches then drive over the same bit of ground the rattle should have gone. I to, am suffering from the same problem, found that one of the rattles came from the plastic shield round the high level stop light, so I packed this out with balsa wood. also the rear window, I drove down the road with the window up to prove this. dave
