Even the old haynes 'book-of-lies' doesn't even show an exploded diagram of the rear calipers on my 504 coupe!! lat alone any explanation of how to rebuild the d**n things. They seem bizarrely complex inside. i had to strip these down last year (seized) but obviously reassembled the handbrake actuating system incorrectly (no handbrake at all!!), anybody know how to deal with these?

This might be useful... Re: handbrake, you might have damaged the little teeth when disassembling your caliper. The piston has to be turned 1/8th before being pushed in to remove the pads.

Trouble is "old pug" does not know! All I can remember is to get a hand brake slacken the cable right off then pump the brake pedal like mad then adjust cable. That is as 504 V6 said you have not damaged the "teeth"and it all is free and not seized up.I have not worked on these for over 10yrs.

Ta for that. Just about to go down the lock up and try it. Pretty sure i didn't damage the internals, just feel that maybe i misassembled it. Does it go together with the 'teeth/threads' engaged or not engaged? Anyway off to try and fox it. Seems icredible that there is no info anywhere explaining how th reassemble the internal mechanism. I cant get hold of the club librarian to get a copy of the relevant pages of the original workshop manual. Gotta be in there surely???

There are some on ebay from time to time. Have a look on german site ebay.de. Usually about 100-150€ a piece.

Have you tried www.Serie04.com & www.franzose.de ?? I have used both of these but unless you can speak French or German its hard work, so having the Peugeot part number makes life easy.
