Hi everybody, I just wanted to ask a few questions... I am a Pug enthusiast that lives in Tasmania and am planning a trip to Europe in July for 4-6 months. I was looking at buying a car and driving it across Europe into Russia with a friend and was curious as to the logistics of buying a car in the UK. I would love to find a nice 505 diesel break as I've got a 505 diesel here and love it. I may even look into importing the car when I go home but that remains to be seen. Failing that, is there anyway I can simply buy a car with a few months of MOT left and donate it to the club or one of it's members when I leave? If I can find a car for under 300p, it might be worth it. I am very mechanical so don't mind if it's got some issues as long as they aren't serious as I won't have my tools with me. Just thought I'd get some local advice as to how I could work this. Cheers, dan

Hi dan Good to hear from you. Used car prices in the UK are pretty much dirt cheap at the moment. Buying a used car is pretty simple and as long as it has an MOT and you can arrange insurance, for which you will need a UK address and a driving license (Aus one will do as there's a recipricol arrangement on these). have a look on the cars for sale section here, 505's are remarkably popular! You rarely see them in the normal used car ads though! They do have a "following" You may want to consider a 405 estate as well as it will be newer and you should be able to pick up an mot'd one for around £250 no problem.
Keep us posted with your plans and we'll try and ,ake you welcome when you get here!
