OK, anyone have any thoughts or opinions on the steering on a 407 ?
I've followed quite a few people in 407's since I've had my 407 Sport..and I've noticed that the bar a few exceptions people who are driving 407's do tend to weave from one side of the lane to the other..me included at times.
I find that it's a very difficult car to steer unconciously and if your mind tends to wander or you look at something other than straight ahead there is a tendency for the car to drift.
Especially if fiddling with the RT4...
Is it the steering ?
Is it the seating position ? I don't know..
But I've driven quite a few cars of late and have only noticed this in the 407.
There appears to be a fairly large dead spot when the steering wheel is centered straight ahead.
I don't have this on my wife's 207 Sport and I've never seen it quite as noticeable as this on anything else I've ever driven.
I've seen quite a few internet postings about similar experiences.
That said a friend of mine had a Mercedes and he says that is was very similar, he much happier now he's back in a BMW.
Anyone have any thoughts on this ?
Is it normal or is there something that can be fixed ?
Jim.

its fairly normal in them as it has a double wishbone front and rear supsension which is great for handling but it does give it the feeling that it wanders

Thanks Frank, that's really what I was looking for..someone to tell me that it's normal behaviour rather than something to be concerend about.
I think I'll be OK once I get used to it, and yeah it corners very well indeed.
It's great on the motorway, just a little unforgiving when you are on a little village road that the local council has somewhat negelected...potholes etc etc ..we get a lot of those in this part of the world..
