OK, how about a rebooting RT4 SATNav ?
It's the newer version with the hard disk.
It's flicked off and rebooted on me about six times in the last three months.
Anyone know why ?
Three time it's been pretty much at the same place, as I get near a motorway junction on my way home.
Also why does it always tell me to bear right when I'm approaching an exit slip road on my left on the motorway ?
The SATNav appears to always display the exit slip roads as straight ahead and the road ahead as veering to the right...which it obviously doesn't...and the lady politely insists that I drive through the central barrier..
Just curious..

it tells you to bear right so you dont turn off the motorway, and to keep the slip road that joins the motorway clear. can i ask why you brought this car as you obviously dont like it. it isnt very old and should still have waranty, so why dont you ask the dealer you brought it off to answer these qusetions

>>can i ask why you brought this car as you obviously dont like it
..company car...couldn't get a Mondeo 2.0 Zetec 6 Speed Manual ( very long delivery dates, several dealers quoting 20 weeks plus at the beginning fo the year, I waited eight weeks before we cancelled ) 407 was my backup choice. Personally I've had many Peugeot hatches over then last twenty odd years, still got a 205 circa 1988 with 140,000 on the clock, has it since new. Also got a 207 Sport which I got a couple of years ago, brilliant little car. Other family members have had new 407's so I guess I followed their lead somewhat.
>>so why dont you ask the dealer you brought it off to answer these qusetions
...Oh...so like all the other questions that I've asked them and got sweet no-where squared.
I thought that I'd get more expert infdormation from a news forum like this one where owners actually get together to share experiences.
The VW forum was brilliant when I had my Passat, much better info than you'd get over the service desk, they never tell you anything.
Alas it seems that there are only a few people in here..
As a matter of interest what do you drive ?

What doesn't it just say continue straight on, which would be much more accurate....ho hum...

the sat nav instructions are hidious, i sold my 407 sport sw as i left my job at peugeot, and brought a new shape vauxhall zafira 1.9d 150bhp 6 speed in design trim, great car got sat nav which is loads better, rear privacy glass, 17" wheels, front and rear parking sensors, loads more room inside then the 407, quicker than the 407, more fuel efficent, and i think it looks better. even though the 407 is a nice car id of waited for the mondeo.

Yeah...I know...but I started to read a lot of negative feedback about them online and in motoring journals, so I decided it moght be better to go with something else rather than wait. I'm warming to the 407, the suspension is starting to soften up a bit, I'm getting used to the driving style, I'm not bonking my head on the windscreen pillar any more when I get into the car...though my son is still doing that I think it looks stunning in black. I love the phone and Voice controls.
