Hey Guys, i have just signed up to the forum. I have had my 1989 205 CTI for 3 years now, she dutifully comes out just before summer, has a full service, sails through an mot, then does about 500 - 100 miles, then gets put away again to hibernate. The problem i currently have is that she only comes out to play on Glorious sunny days as some not a very nice person did my roof 2 years ag, so, my question is, who can i take her to to be re-roofed, for a reasonable amount of money.........
I am london based, and the car is garaged in maidenhead, berkshire (My home town)
many thanks in advance for any suggestions

hi there are a number of ways to get a replacement roof fitted: buy a roof off ebay (prolly about 2-300 new...) and send it to a garage and get them to fit it - easy and cheap diy - the haynes guide isn't terribly helpful here tbh - 205tref can give you more info on that having not long done our CJs or there are a number of roof repair kits, halfords does on and there are a few out there in ebay and the like that one depends on how bad/where the tear is... (clear window sealant is also an option...) the fittings can also rust - some supply with the roof others dont... or the time old - gaffa tape... (which is surprisingly good! and watertight, though you have to watch it to make sure it's still intact) - we managed like that for quite some time all that said there are places which specialise in classic car re-roofing in the south... depends on what you want to spend... hope thats of some use
