Hi, I found a great Swedish site that allows one to look up the car's chassis number from the number plate, well this allowed me to identify two additional Swedish 404 C cars!! 6802464, Coupé Injection 1968, Bleu Clair Métallisé 1158, location: SWEDEN  4597326, Cabriolet Injection 1966, Rouge China 1135, front turn signals are incorrect, location: MUNKFORS SWEDEN  Additonally, a French forum member revealed the body number of his car (but not the chassis number): No. Carrosserie : 10350 Cabriolet from March 1966, Blanc Arosa 1132, car is undergoing restoration in 2012, location: RODEMACK FRANCE Total: 1613! |

A very large "thank you" goes out to the Swedish Peugeot 404 fans and in particular I wish to single out the efforts of Inge L. who owns many 404s. With his assistance in providing license plate information and the Swedish government website that allows one to look up a car's chassis number from the license plates, I have been able to find - probably - all of the 404 Coupés and Cabriolets in this large Nordic country. Last year, the Webmaster of the Svenska Peugeotklubben indicated to me that although the Club only has 40 404 C cars registered, there were believed to be 52 of the 404 C models in Sweden. We have done better than that, because on top of the 43 our Registry already has listed for Sweden, we can now add:

Evidently the Swedish work was not completed yesterday; Janne Mellqvist (SvenskaPegueotKlubben) gave me three other cars from an old list he had, and all three cars were looked up on the Transport Styrelsen website and still exist. Surely now we have got all the Swedish 404 C cars registered??

It turns out to be the case that this car is already on our list under Serial Number 4598249, so one might think that the total has declined by one.....
...but it has not: a new one has been discovered:

So the total remains at 1632!

Here is 6803095, which is a genuine Peugeot Concessionnaires RHD conversion from 1968, and it's presently for sale in Oxford, England. The car is truly spectacular, probably worth the asking price.
