greetings... last 3 years i've been replacing brand new battery in every year. is that normal? what i should do for further investigation? alternator was checked last year and it was fine. appreciate any inputs.

I suspect battery life will depend very much on what engine you have and how you use it - I'm averaging somewhere in the region of 5 years per battery in mine (a 1.9TD). That said I did have one battery that lasted less than a year as it was the wrong model - before you go any further check you have a suitable battery. (That's the only battery that's been supplied and fitted 'professionally', the rest came from Halfords and have done a much better job).
The reason mine didn't last long was that it was to small - it wasn't up to the current it was asked to supply to turn the engine over and boiled off the electrolyte before too long.

if yours is a diesel, they need a REALLY good battery, I think the one in mine cost about £100. Forget the £40 batteries, they just don';t have enough lead in them to supply all that current on a winter start.
