hi I have a 406 Coupe which needs some work doing - mainly the engine diagnostics light which keeps coming on. Would rather not take it to the stealers... does anyone know a good Peugeot specialist in the Cambridge area? cheers

Not replying to your question, but if it is the V6 model, the engine diagnostics light coming on usually means a faulty ignition coil. This would be confirmed by an engine noise different than normal when revving and vibrating oddly. It will feel like running on 4 or 5 legs, which it will bedoing! It's a common disease of the 2946cc V6 engine and, at 50k miles, I had changed my 6 coils twice!!! It's a small job and not too expensive, although probably around £200, coils being around £20 each.
Other than that, it is a fault with the cat converter. Oh dear, you do not want that.... :-(

nah, have the Hdi. My last car was a Corrado VR6. V quick but it was just too thirsty!
The first time it went on there was a brief message saying the antipollution device was defective but since then it tends to come on sporadically without any message.
