hi all...just joined....bought a 99.. v plate 406 2.0 hdi 110bhp estate...executive...very good and complete history....done about 6k in it and two problems to date....a broken front offside spring whilst parked overnight !!!!......ripped the cv boot as well..never experienced the like before !!....over that now......another was the back exhuast box....rather pricey i felt but this is my first ever "frenchy" in many years of motoring so maybe the norm. !!!.......once had a french letter but never a french car lol..... just wondering which of the two undertrays to remove to do an oil change , no workshop manual at the mo. and although the car has a full history they don't seem to have been off in an age....am i missing something here ?? , have the garages used a suction device to empty the engine oil in the past maybe ??......also has the sump plug a copper washer or the like to replace ?......thanks for any help...looking forward to reading through the site posts to get a feel for these cars.......cheers

Remove the smaller of the two - you're lucky to havean undertrays left at all!
Aside from fuel, which they sip, 406 HDi's are expensive to run - parts, insurance etc all sems a bit steep for a mundano class car.
