Flashing Headlights

Have got a 307 (56 plate). Currently having a problem with the lights. The headlights (sidelights) keep sporadically flashing by themselves when im driving and when the car is stationery. Does anyone have any ideas? Is it a faulty stalk or maybe something worse.

Any help would be much appreciated.

itll be the comms2000, in other words the switch block behind the wheel
