Hi everyone, Ive come on to see if I can find an answer to the engine problems my mum is experiencing with her 2006 1.4 206 before we fork out a load to a peugeot dealer.
Some time ago it kept going into an erratic idle mode, it would need to be constantly revved so it wouldnt stall. Then without doing anything it stopped and carried on being a normal car. Untill today when it seemed to go into LIMP mode.
It idle'd at 2000rpm and wouldnt got above 2500/3000rpm. The EML stayed on (and is still on now.) If you revved it very slowly it would get to about 3000rpm untill it started to hunt really baddly. The only way I can describe it as if youve hit a rev limiter but it takes ages for it to pick back up again.
I turned the car off and disconnected the batter for 20mins. I reconnected it and started the car up. The engine light is still on but its back to normal. Im guessing the EML is still on as its stored a fault, but I want to know what fault it is and will it happen again randomly?
Also it hasnt got a sagem coil pack.
Many Thanks Ryan.
