Hi
My old multi-coloured car is finally off the road (it failed its MOT amongst other things on some welding that I dont want to get sorted) and at the moment I am looking into getting a new car. My parents are helping me out, so I am looking into getting a newish car for my main daily driver, but would love to get another 205 to use as a hobby car.
At the moment I am just trying to work out how much this will cost, especially on the insurance front as I will be the only insured driver on both cars, and cannot drive both cars at once, but I'm not sure on where to look for the best deals on getting multiple-car insurance or limited mileage deals, especially as I am only 22 and the hobby car will only be about 15 years old.
If anyone has any comments/advice all would be appreciated
Thanks
Doug

for shame. The multicoloured 205 was one of the clubs best cars in my opinion (oooh how to enrage some of the concours 403 boys). Very sad to see it go. Whatever replaces it should get the same treatment.

My daily driver was already insured with Admiral, and when shopping around for quotes for my recently acquired 205 GTI, I discovered that they do multicar policies. Well, strictly speaking, they're not multicar policies, but they offer discounts for multiple policies... Anyways, as I'm the sole driver for both cars, they've allowed me to use the no claims discount from my daily driver policy on the 205 - which would have started from zero had I gone elsewhere. It seems that I'll accrue no claims discount on the 205 to so when renewal time comes around next year, I can go elsewhere and have one years' NCD on the 205 (fingers crossed ) That's saved quite a chunk of cash on what I was getting quoted elsewhere. Which is nice:)

YOU CAN BE INSURED ON ANOTHER CAR WITHOUT TAKING OUT A SEPERATE INSURANCE POLICY. IM FULLY COMP ON MY 205 GTI! AND WHEN THE WEATHER IS nuts I RIDE AROUND IN MY OTHER CAR WHICH IS IN MY DADS NAME,ONLY 3RD PARTY THOU. YOU JUST NEED TO MAKE SURE THE OTHER CAR YOU DRIVE IS NOT IN YOUR NAME AND YOU WILL BE INSURED.
