I'm interested in fitting a turbo to my car, its a 1990 205 1.1 (carburettor not injection). Does anyone know if firstly this is possible, how easy is it, and what kind of exhaust system would I need? Thanks

That little engine is not designed for a turbo,it would blow up in 500mls.Its not just a case of bolting on a turbo, almost every internal part will need replacing together with the manifolds, cooling system, and exhaust, total waste of time and money. If you want some more power go get a 205GTI.they are designed for it.

hmm i will look into it, i'm sure a small turbo would be ok with a decent cooling system and exhaust system. its only a bit of fun anyway, it's more complicated with a gti engine as you have injectors and ecu's to worry about

What I ment was, forget fitting a turbo,no point waste of time etc.Get a GTI and keep it standard.

i wasn't ignoring it just didnt think buying another car was really answering my question. maybe a turbo isn't the best idea just thought it might be fun! this car only cost me £50 so i thought it would be cool to use the money i saved on the original price of the car tuning it rather than buying a more expensive car.
i'll be more clear with my question aswell, what else is involved with fitting a turbo other than just bolting it on?!

you will need to change the pistons con rods etc, cooling system, exhaust, it can be done but the cost would be huge

Its back to the first answer!! what ever you do to that little engine will cost loads of dosh and have little effect .I`ve got what you want?? a 1.4 TU S engine (the one with twin choke carb`) see the details in the parts for sale section under Himalayan 309.(Frank knows about this ad)
