I have a Peugeot 406 1.9td and I have a problem with the rev counter. When it's on engine brake it drops to zero.I have read that there is a pick up sensor on the fly wheel but I can't find it. Today I have looked under the car with no success. On the engine block there is a hole a two bolts near it that I think it suppose to be a sensor but there is nothing. It's on the engine block to the flywheel. Something I can't understand that the rev counter still works. It only drops to zero when the engine is on Engine Brake,So I think that there is somewhere else from where the revcounter pick up it's signal.I hope someone can help me because I can't find anything.
If some one knows the location exactly or can take a picture I will epriciate very much

Problem solved it was the Crank Sensor mounted on the top of the gearbox. Attachments:
