Hello. I am a new member having resurrected a 304 Cabriolet, owned by my family since new in July, 1972. It last ran 18 years ago, but is relatively rot free and hopefully will be running within a few weeks/months. My first problem is the wiring - does anyone have or know where I can find a wiring diagram for this model, or even a handbook? Also, the tyres are obviously shot. The originals were 145X14, difficult to find. Could 165X70x14 tyres fit on the original rims which I intend having refurbished in the next few days? It looks as if they could.

Haynes manuals are popping up all the time on ebay. That has the wiring diagrams. And 165/70 r14s will be fine on the rims. The original 145 R14's are available still. I think Federal do them still.
I'm building a 304 cabriolet at the mo. Have you got any photos?

Sorry not to have replied, but have been away. I found a Haynes on ebay and progress is continuing if very slow, but have refurbished the wheels and put 165s on which seem okay. I shall hopefully get some photos soon. The car is complete and needing only a little welding in the pedal box, offside rear arch and the two spots below the rear bulkhead in the boot. Kerry

Hi Kerry, I think I have an old Haynes manual somewhere, if you are still looking for one. Sent me a pm with your address and I'll stick it in the post. I rewired a 304 cab once when I was about 18...bon courage! My mum used to laugh her head off when I was doing it, and pressed the horn and the indicators flashed! ;O)-

Hello: thanks for the offer, but I got a manual some time ago. I have been in France for a few weeks, thus didn't see your post. The rewiring will be done, eventually, by an expert and progress is very slow, but hopefully the 304 will be on the road before the end of the year. It was supposed to go back to France this summer - talk about optimism.
