Hi,
I have lost my spare key and I wish to buy a new remote key but without the high prices from a dealer.
I was wondering if I bought a used key off eBay with a new blade, will it work on my car after getting it cut and programmed? And is there anyway I can program it myself?
Thanks.

if the remote has already been programed, they somtimes dont reprogram with another transponder code. there isnt any other way to program it other then visting the dealer.
you could try a second hand key but dont expect it to work. sorry

Can it not be programmed by an auto locksmith if I have the blue Peugeot key card?

hi the main dealer charges a few quid for the proper keys, a cheap alternative is to take the chip out of your original key and tape it to your ignition barrel underneath the plastics, then you can get keys cut from a local cobblers for a couple of quid, alot of taxi drivers do this to save money on the amount of keys they go through ;D

thats all well and good but if the car ever got stolen then its just a case of good old fashioned hotwiring, kinda defeats the object of car security. plus if it did get nicked the car insurance always ask for the keys, if they find the chip missing then you wont get a penny back. but yes that does work
