Hi all Just returned from hols in France and have just bought a LHD 1974 Series One 2 litre 504c whilst there. I already have a 304 Cabriolet but know very little about 504c but am having to learn fast! ;D. Headlamps-can they be converted from LHD to RHD or are there different units for each? One of mine has a small crack which is an MOT failure I think. Kugelfischer injection pump can you get the rubber toothed belt which drives the pump from anywhere? I would like a spare as I dont know what state current one is in. What MPG should I expect from the car? Current experience is about 30mpg. Love the car as it drives like nothing else I have ever driven. I agree with the quotation from the 1/18 Norex model "not known for a great performance but rather for its irreproachable road manners" Any help or advice would be much appreciated Many thanks Jonathan

The SEDIS drive belts for the injection pump are not available any more. They are not rubber, but rather wire-reinforced Rilsan.
The last 9 ones I was aware of were in Australia and were for sale at $100 each about a year ago. I bought them all, passing some onto fellow 404 C owners in France, Finland and Canada.
I think that if you can find a new one today at under $250, you should get it.

Congratulations on your purchase! Do post some pictures so that we can have a look at your beauty. SEDIS belts are scarce, true, but not impossible to find. I've sent you price and supplier by PM. All 504cc were LHD and as such, headlamps only exist for LHD vehicles. If one of yours is cracked and needs replacement, be prepared to spend a little fortune. In France, they tend to go for 450€ to 500€ a pair... In terms of fuel consumption, do not expect much better than 25 to 30mpg, so if you do experience 30mpg, that's very good. I've posted many messages on these cars, run a search and I hope you'll find valuable information on these Peugeot models. Unfortunately, our beloved and favourite web site www.504cc.com is no longer. It suddently ceased to be earlier this year after nearly 9 years of excellent services. Be careful of the infamous Belgium specialist, he will only be after one thing: the deepest end of your pockets. If you need any info, just drop a line, I most always reply. Enjour your cab!

A friend of mine in Canada has two new main beam lamps for the 404 C/504 C. He does not need them, because his 404 C is a 1966 model.
If you need one of those to replace your cracked one, let me know and I can probably arrange for them to be sent to you at considerably less than the price mentioned above.
For the dipped beams, I guess black tape will have to be employed....or you could try adapting a LHD/RHD type bulb holder to the lamp unit.

My mistake, I was talking about headlamps for Series 2 and 3, which are different from the headlamps of Series 1.
These can be found on ebay regularly and at a reasonable price. They were used on 404cc and also on Alpines (eg: A310) +, apparently, other vehicles. Have a look at previous posts for part #.

180€ ??
I hope the quality will be ok, the refabricated 504CC front fenders they offered some time ago where also expensive and didn't even fit correctly.
I better try get the original one then on ebay, its still well below that price.

can't you convert the headlamps by twisting the bulbs a bit? If it was me I think I would hack a bulb around a bit to try it.
