hi i am very new to this lets hope it works eh? i am wondering if anyone out there knows if i can put a 306 gti6 gearbox into my 2.0 xsi engine?  is it easy? |

If your XSi is a 16V it will bolt on the engine no problem,but the gear linkage is different.I think you would have to fit every bit of linkage from a GTi6.

I have done this to a mate S-reg 306 xsi 2.0 16v, yes it bolts striaght on no problem. The linkages are the same, you just need the lift up reverse cable and the gear lever with the lift up reverse on.
You really should change the power steering ram on the rack as other wise the n/s tyre could hit the gearbox on full right hand lock. We didnt and as long as your careful and dont hold it on full lock when turning right its fine.
But its well worth doing and we were amazed how it transformed the car! Due to the gears being closer it made the car feel a lot quicker!
