I think that like many concept cars, it's an expensive waste of time. That said, it heralds the arrival of the new 1.2 litre 3 cylinder turbo that is going to power the 108 in 2012, along with a 70BHP NA unit. These motors are Peugeots own and PSA have ditched Toyota for their small-car future. The 108 will be based on the forthcoming Mitsubishi Colt underpan, structure and suspension, with Peugeots own engines, transmissions and bodywork.
The styling of the 108 is still a mystery, and I'm hoping beyond hope that this wee concept is not a taste of things to come.
Still, aside from that doubt the 108 looks promising. 100BHP in a sub 800kg car, with 55+ MPG fuel manners and no messy annoying FAP to expensively maintain? Yes please!
