I have a 2002 406 Hdi Executive its going fine, but the cruise control seems a but wonky, it works sometimes, usually on alternate journeys ive taken the stalk out and blew dust out, and put it back in but no help, the brake and clutch switches work ok. But i still dont know whats wrong. I had it at a diagnostics reader and the criuise control isnt showing up, at the time it was for an airbag light which i knew how to fix with the code. But as for the cruise control it works on alternate journeys and if im unlucky to get one journey wherre it doesnt work the only way to get it to work is to pull in and wait 2 minuites after hearing a click from down by the fuesbox location it seems to return to working state again. But whats causing this mad problem any ideas?

Alas, a normal OBDII reader only reads engine codes. You need Planet, Peugeots own dealer kit, to read chassis, brake and equipment codes. Clutch switch is a fave failure, but could be several things. Visit www.peugeotforums.com and see if there's a member near you with Planet who'll hook it up for a few beer tokens. Good luck,

i put a multimeter across the two pins at the back of the clutch pedal, it turned the switch off every time i pressed ok so it doesnt have any problems, the brake pedal switch is working because the brake lights are working. So with a PP2000 is that what your referring to could the fault be diagnosed?, how much would the dealer charge to read the crusie control fault, if i knew what was wrong surely i could fix it myself.

the switches may be working but is the ecu and bsi receiving the signal?? that can only be checked with the planet.

ah right, would dealers be madly expensive for this? but the weird thing is that its working on alternate journeys, is it the ecu or the bsi that controls the cruise control because i always thought the bsi just controled the dials and lights.

i know it does, mine went mad once after i wired up lights to the doorcard puddle lights, luckily though i removed them before permanent damage was done, the cruise control issue happened before i done this. Ill book it into a stealer to let them read out codes.
