Hello guys
I've got a 1991/J 405 mi16x4 with a really annoying rear suspension fault. Basically it wont work. I can manually get it to lift itself right to the top, but if i release the switch it will stay up for a few seconds before going all the way back down. Ive tried checking the system out as best I can, but can't find anything obviously wrong. I have had it working ok yesterday after i had moved the level sensor (which I thought had cured it) but today it just went down again and now i'm back to square one. Does anybody have any info on how this system should work or any idea what might be the problem?
Any help would be much appreciated Andy

I had one of these 15yrs ago, very very rare model, fantastic car (in its day) but very complicated. That is Citroen BX rear suspension so you need to find yourself an old school BX expert. If you can raise and lower it with the switch in the boot the electric pump and fluid level must be OK.The fault sounds as if its the level sensor.Thinking back to mine it was like "active ride" when I put my big tool box in the boot the electric pump would click in and raise the suspension back to level ride hight.
