Hi Y'all In spite of a back to chassis restore 5 years ago, my nearside cill has badly corroded on my 1970 504 cab, and could do with replacing. The one on the offside looks newer and in fairly good nick, and I wondered what else would fit, and how hard they are to come by? Anyone any ideas. (The rocking horse analogy comes to mind) Cheers

I don't know if anyone makes replica 504 C sills, but this is not the case for the 404 C. Best of luck!

Very helpful! Not sure how different the saloon sills are to the cab version, but you may be able to chop /weld bits to them to make them fit. This site has exploded diagrams of the saloon 504... www.autopanels-castleford.co.ukMay be worth a look.

Sills are specific to the CC, you cannot fit sills from the saloon. Unfortunately, they're very hard to come by.
I've seldomely seen some for sale on ebay or private ads, but you'll have to be very patient for the next ad...
If desperate, there is always the Belgium option but it'll probably cost you a 25yr re-mortage for a pre-rotten sill.
Alternatively, you may want to find a specialised outfit that would re-manufacture something for you. Remember Brent Lord?

Thanks Guys, it sounds like it might need a fabrication of it. I'll speak to the peeps that re-skinned my door as they did an astounding job of it.

Ok it looks like I need to have a cill fabricated. Without removing trims etc, in anyone able to tell me how it fixes to the bodywork/rear wheel panel? My bodyshop just wants to know how far he will need to strip it back to fit it, in order to quote. Thanks in advance

Have you tried John Fox in Skipton? I've been told that he fabricates all his own panels for 504's and is the best person to speak to. I don't have any contact details but someone on here may know him.

Thanks Dave, and yes John Fox actually carried out the original restoration and LHD conversion of my Pug back in the early 90's. I did manage to speak to him about 4 years ago about my Pug, but now the number is now disconnected. Does anyone know if he's still in business and have contact details? Getting desperate now! Also does anyone know whether the cill is a separate section to the rear wheel arch, and how you deal with the join? I have one bodywork specialist willing to take it on, but was just concerned at where he'll have to stop once he starts! Thanks Luke
