Hi there, I'm all new to the forum and to all things automotive and am after some advice.. I have just bought a W reg 406 which was low milage(88,000) in good nick from a friend of a friend.. It came with one key fob(RF I think 2buttons) which stopped working. I have replaced the battery but to no avail. the key will not manually open the doors..the locks all spin 360 degs. So I am now unable to get into the car!! I have searched online to find info and have mainly found out about re syncing the fob etc but all of this is based on being able to manually unlock. I'm feeling a bt helpless..do I call in a locksmith /AA/RAC to gain access and then hope it starts..shall i try to break in myself (i'm not confident of my chances!!) I called a peugeot dealer close to where I live but they can't do anything unless they have the car.
Any help, hints, advice would be greatly appreciated..
thanks

As you say,if your in the car its easy.Find out from the ex owner if that key ever did open the door manually? if it did it may be stuck through lack of use.Fill the key hole with WD40 and "play" ?? A spare key is worth its weight in gold!

Thanks for the help... I ended up bashing in a rear quarter window to get in... bought a replacement for £5.00. How hard can it be to replace??? methinks that may be my next post.
