Serviceable second hand airbags are available now from some car recycling centres. Has anyone successfully fitted airbags to older Peugeots? I would be grateful for details.

if your on about fitting airbags into peugeots that had airbags fitted orignally then yes but wouldnt go for second hand bags over 15years old. if your on about fitting airbags into vehicles that didnt have bags fitted then i wouldnt bother. to much hassle and you wouldnt get the crash sensors fitted in the right place without a lot of work

...not to mention that the car would fold up like a house of cards anyway, rendering the airbag useless or worse. Modern shells are several times more stiff than shells of cars built only 15 years ago.

I often think about this when driving my lovely 404 cabriolet,no seat belts or air bags, rock solid dash, big bony steering wheel, and its LHD so my wife is looking at the on coming cars!! If we had a big one it would be in two bits.
