I think I've read that right On the bottom edge of the tailgaite, towards the sides, are 2 plasticky/hard rubber buttons. Wind them inwards by hand and hopefully the boot should close properly.

thanks for your reply m8, i know the things you mean but when i turn them they just spin! i will try taken them right off to see if it works, i will try right now just try ed taken them off completely and still not working i know the lock is working because if i slam the boot lid and keep it held down the boot locks. when i climb in the boot and watch the mechanism it looks like its not catching the bottom metal clip properly, but like Ive said Ive try-ed moving the catch but it makes no difference. any more advice and thanks again

Tricky one chum. I'm not uber familiar with the 307, though I'd guess its not disimilar to the 308.
Does the bottom catch have any adjustment in it. If you loosen the mounting bolts I think there's a few mm movement available.

is the mircroswitch stuck in the open postion in the handle?? press the lever and you should be able to hear the switch click. if not then take the handle off and clean out where the switch sits. really common for it to fill up with crud and stick

Funnily enough Frank, we've had a 307 at work come in to the workshop with the same problem, and thanks to you I was able to swoop in and look really intelligent!
