Has anyone any tips on replacing the front brake disc and / or
bearings as the manual refers to a "special tool".

Its got to be 20yrs since I did one but I do remember this being a big job!The drive shaft has to be removed from the hub,then the disc/hub assy` pressed out of the suspension strut.All this just to get to the bolts that hold the disc to the hub.Its best to remove the complete strut and do all this on the bench and access to a press would be advisable.The bearing is pressed into the strut and can fall apart when removing the hub.It can be done "in situ" with a hammer and drift but study it all before "whacking away".
