406 blower probs

Hi all
I have a 2000 406 with a heater blower problem, sometimes it will work fully with no problems (full control/speed hot air etc) but the next time you start up it wont work at all. I've found restarting the engine a couple of times will often 'trick' it into working. All the dash controls appear to be doing their job
Any help would be much appreciated

hi i had exactly the same problem with my 406 2.1 td 96 model its where the connector fits into the blower unit underneath i took blower out pretty easy then you have to seperate the fan from the unit i got someone to hold unit while i prised out fan then you can solder the spade connector i think it happens when passengers get in and kick the unit mine ran fine for months but has gone again maybe i should just get a new one good luck

hi, my 285k 406 had the same problem. ended up replacing the fan motor itself.
