hi al any body know how difficult it is to change these bearings and are there any special tools required the wifes pug 206 rear driverside wheel looks as if it is leaning out from the bottom and when she drives on uneven roads or hit a small pot hole there a loud bang from that area it has had new shocks on but did not cure the problem any ideas steve

there not that hard to change if you had a proper 2 poster ramp. but the best thing you can do is just to replace the rear beam with a known good unit.

As Frank said the bearings in the radius arms can be changed,(when the axle is all dismantled).The problem almost every time is as the bearings have worn and failed it damages the bearing shaft the radius arm fits to.To replace that you have to replace the whole axle beam.I never bother now overhauling Peugeot rear axles,just get a recon` rear axle assembly from www.sspengineering.co.uk £350 + VAT all ready to fit,which takes about 1-2hrs.Job done no aggro fully guaranteed.
