Hi, I am new here, and looking for help please. I have a 1990 309 Look 1.3,which was driving well but for a few years has been off the road. it was driven and garaged up till 2007. I moved house and since it has been under car port. I know it would probably need renovation, please can anyone advise how to go about it. I want to give it a chance to get back on the road. I realise I am asking a lot. I am in Lancashire. I've had the car since new. I can try and send photo if wanted. thanks hidecote

First it needs to be inspected by an expert, preferably a Peugeot man (old school) who knows this model. He will tell you what it needs to get it in MOT condition and any other work you can discuss with him.Sentimental value may make you spend more than the car is worth but a good Peugeot man would put you right.Try www.goodgaragescheme.co.uk (Peugeot Specialist with your post code)

hi
309s most common trouble area is on the inner sills just in front of the rear wheels. it may look solid but the underseal can hide bad rust and rot
where in lancs are you, as maybe i could look over the car for you and advise
i'm probably an hour or so away

thanks so much, great to get response from you both, and well I live in Lytham St Annes just outside Blackpool. If you were able to have a look, of course I would reimburse expenses, I am serious about this happening. I guess I would PM details, if you were close enough to make journey.
I wait to hear.
thanks again, and to all who viewed. hidecote

thanks so much for advice and help. As I had to move my 309 from the address it was at asap, I had to move fast. Thanks I found a trusted (through recommendation) mechanic, who moved vehicle to his workshop where, as I speak, repair is well under way. yes it will be several hundred quid, but I wanted to give it a chance before considering scrap yard. So it was great to read through threads, and well I may be back, in meantime, again thanks, you gave me the ray of hope to build on, can't thank you enough guys, I really was not expecting to find help, but it's been out on the road for test drive!!
cheers Jayne XX
