Received the money and arranged next day delivery to the garage. Let me know that it arrived all okay.
Cheers Dave

She lives! Finally got her back after HUUUUGE expense. Turns out it had an xl5 engine in there not the correct xl3 so nothing fitted. Will be doing some serious cruising this weekend!

Yay!! Nice one Pete! Glad you got it all sorted out. What modifications had to be made in the end?

Had to have a plate made up as a themostat housing with a spigot for the hose. This wasn't too bad but everything that we swapped over threw up another problem. Many of the threads stripped and had to be recut as they are really too fine for an all alloy engine. Biggest expense was TIME! He charged me for 35 hours (sure it took MUCH longer) at a very reasonable rate 'cos I've known him for years. I won't put his name up here 'cos he'll probably shoot me if he sees another Pug 304!

Had the thing back for about three weeks now and the cutch is slipping. AAAAARGH! Told me he'd checked the clutch before re-installing it and it was ok. Is this another engine out job? Please say no!!!!!
