Hiya, I've had a brand new 207 since Septmber last year, everything has been brilliant - until last month. Car is now misfiring/spluttering to the point where it feels like it wil cut-out/stall ( it doesn't get better when applying more power!), it's worse in low gears, especially when it has been standing but is doing it in different degrees on every journey. Have taken it to main dealer who say there is nothing wrong. Has anyone else had this problem or have any suggestions what may be wrong?

This is a new car under warranty! As Frank said, kick up at your dealer and don't take no for an answer.Do they think you are imagining all this? I serviced a very late 308 1.6HDi yesterday and noticed a letter from Peugeot about recalling it for ECU downloads etc.May be yours should have the same. What do you know about this Frank?

Success on the second attempt with the Garage. You were right oldpug, it did need ECU downloads - there is a fault on a lot of the brand new 1.6Hdi engines, the fuel injectors are not programmed correctly and require a download, re-setting and re-calibrating. It can take a couple of attempts to get the set-up absolutely right though.

Excellent news, but the boys were right - warranty, dealer, keys, come back when it's mended...and be tough about it.
My 1st 3008 (also an HDi) was such a hound that in 46 days of ownership it spent only 24 on the road, so I threw the keys at Pinley House with a solicitors letter and they gave me a new one.

Remember that the 207 was recently found to be less likely to suffer a warranty claim in the 3-7 year age range than any other car from a "European" manufacturer. The legend for outweighs the reality.
I don't mind them going wrong...within reason, so long as Peugeot don't fanny about trying to duck the warranty claim, which does sometimes happen...
Why my 1st 3008 seat adjuster broke, rusted on the inner shut of both rear doors, cruise failed, engine intermittently lost power, the engine suffered a nasty oil leak while on a long journey, the dreaded "anti pollution fault" message kept appearing, then the turbo finally exploded, all within 46 days, I wrote to complain. Their response was that the 3008 was voted the Car of the Year by What car? etc, which bore no relevance to my situation.
They did replace it with another which has been much, much better, but their attitude stank. A simple "sorry the £21,000 car you bought was so foul" would've gone a long way and cost them nothing, but never materialised.
