i have a 407 hdi 1.6 and the turbo has gone again. this is the second turbo in 10 months. i have took it back to the garage that put the new turbo on and have now been told that they think the injectors may be blocked, then it is not covered on the warranty. is this correct? what has the injectors got to do with the turbo? any help as i feel the garage is looking for a way out of repairing it.

Sounds as if they are having you on?Is it a Peugeot Dealer? When you say "gone" what do you mean?What is the exact fault on this and the first turbo? Are you in the AA or RAC? you can tell the garage your going to have an independent examination.

thanks for the reply. yes it is a Peugeot dealer where it was done. there is excessive play on the spindle, when driving it just got slower would not go over 50mph and then stopped. last time they found particulate filter blocked/clogged, fuel filter blocked, maximum regenerations reached, turbo pressure mixture low, exhaust blocked completely. excessive play on turbo spindle. found oil carboned up causing blockage. so Peugeot fitted new turbo and associated work including particulate filter oil and filters, engine flushed as well in August 2010. the garage is now suggesting to much oil, as much as this is my fault as well, even though they put it in! will find out more tomorrow, but certainly think they are trying to get out of it

peugeot are now saying that the engine may have a leaking injector which has contaminated the oil with diesel, which in turn has caused damage to the turbo - i still find this as an excuse as there had been no problems with the car until the turbo went.

That's poo - without an oil analyisis it's impossible to make that diagnosis. In any case, you'd see the oil level rising when you checked it every week. I'd remind them that the work is warranted for a year at an authorised dealer, and the lawful onus is on them to prove their original diagnosis and rectification work was sound, not yours to prove it wasn't. Unless they have the oil tested, their words are meaningless and without basis in fact.
Not sure what year yours is, but the Garret blower on earlier 1600s was a little fragile, and a slightly modified unit was used from c.2008 on, which is much more robust. I wonder if they replaced exactly like for like part number wise.
