most of the braking components seem to be in the boot. I don't think the MOT tester will like that much also it's an auto so it's in P but I don't know how reliable that is

Fantastic stuff. What happened to the old one?

swapped it for the brown one
the other guy prefers a manual and I think that beige one may be the only manual one left also he wants a runner as he's not into spannering like I am that said the starter motor seems to have packed up now
I now prefer an auto as my left knee is giving me problems. The brown auto is also lower mileage and more original and I think probably better condition, but lacking tax and MOT
I think we are both happy with the deal

I changed the oil and filter, bought a battery, and started it up this week. The engine started up really easily, but is only running on five cylinders. Also the ATF was very low. I changed the dizzy cap and rotor arm, I guess it's time for new leads and spark plugs.

I just found out why the handbrake on my new 604 doesn't work
it's got no rear brake calipers
so if anyone has a pair of rear brakes calipers (preferably with bolts n stuff) for a 604 with rear discs, I need to buy some
I think 504 / 505 ones might also fit
thanks

I got some used calipers from Dean Hunter and a seal kit from ebay in the USA, which arrived last week. I rebuilt the calipers last night and I think that they'll be okay for a while. One piston had chipped chrome which I smoothed out a bit with 1200 grit emery. I snapped the return spring post on the other one (it was heavily corroded) but it seems to be holding with a plasterboard screw epoxied in there. I think I might actually have this ready for an MOT in the next week or two. It will fail on welding but I need the fail certificate to legally drive it to the welders.

504s, 604s and 505s all use the same rear calipers. You'll find some on ebay (especially ebay.de) at fairly reasonable price, well much cheaper that at Peugeot anyway.
