hello all. Could someone out there answer a query. Ive viewed a 205 gti with a view to buying it, but after noticing the doors dropping on opening i then saw the gaps between the door and wing much bigger than the gap from the door to rear quarter. Is this normal? If so what are the gaps in other 205s. cheers

T'is not normal. They won't be as tight as a modern car, but they should be bilaterally consistent.

Be wary of this one. It may have suffered accident damage and had new wings fitted. Pattern wings made by companies other than Peugeot sometimes don't fit very well. The car may drive perfectly ok, but as a classic it will be worth less and the price should reflect this. I guess it all depends on how much work you are prepared to do to put this right. Check very carefully the chassis sections under the bonnet and under the car which form part of the overall body structure. Any distortion, creases, kinks are beyond diy redemption, so be prepared to walk away however shiny the rest of the car. Good luck.

are you sure its not just the door hinge pins that are worn, and a baddly adjusted door hinge? ?

Looked at quite a few 205s and none of them are great on gaps. Finally settled on a 205 with no wear in the hinges. The gaps are still "large" but consistent. Thanks all
