I have the full Peugeot Special tool clutch kit. Never removed one without the Peugeot puller so have no advice doing the job without it.With the tool its a very simple job, long time since I did one but I remember fitting new clutches in about 1hr.Doing it without the tool could be risky?? you could end up with a damaged crankshaft. Are you a CPUK member?? its available for loan,I`m near Reading Berks.

While we're on the subject I've been quoted something like £350 just for the parts by Dean Hunter. Apparently it's a balanced set including flywheel. Is this true and is it possible to just do friction plate and cover?

Yes,its all one lump. The clutch cover is part of the flywheel. You just unpack it from its box and fit it on the end of the crank, job done. The only thing that is separate is the relies bearing. For £350 I hope one comes with it.It is possible to replace the friction plate on its own (if you can find one?).My dear mate Dean is expensive but he always has the correct part.Have you tried www.serie04.com or www.franzose.de ?? I have used both in the past,it helps if you know the Peugeot part number (and can speak French or German!!)

Just had a look on serie04 there are two different part numbers one is 289euros the other 399euros,same with the bearing at about 25euros.So Dean is about right if it includes postage and the bearing?
