hello chaps, sorry for this being my first post but i have just bought this thing, i have changed the radio to a kenwood and it works really nice with just snipping the wires, big mistake i now know and im going to re solder them... i dont care about the stalk but the time and date and flashing all the time, is this an easy fuse pull or shall i put the standard radio in and buy the bt module? cheers for any replys

refit it, everything in the car works though the radio as its an ecu on the CAN network. airbags, the dash display, speedo head etc all work though it. also if the dealer network finds out youve cut the wires and later on in the waranty period you get a problem in the electrics and they find the repaired wires they will reject waranty claims.

cheers for the reply, just spent 3 hours re soldering them all, so does this mean we cant have aftermarket head units any more on these new cars?

not really unless you want to put up with the display and various other parts not working correctly. you can get a ipod lead for them, or if buyying the car new go for the stereo upgrade.
