Hi all,
A sad day for me today I finally sold my beloved 504 Cab after 7 years of ups and downs. It was a labour of love and much expense to bring her back from the brink (Failed MOT, road viewing rust holes in the floorpans the infamous hot-starting problem etc etc.), but I've enjoyed many happy trips in her. She was our wedding car in 2006, breaking down outside the registry office and I spent many happy hours sitting by the road waiting patiently for her to cool down. Most memorably outside Lambeth Palace for nearly 2 hours, with some very friendly armed Police to accompany me, who really just wanted to know about the car!
The advert to sell her drew alot of interest, over 60 people were watching her on Ebay, and several other 504 owners contacted me really just to ask me questions! I've uploaded a little doc I prepared sharing my ownership experiences.
One interesting approach led her to appear in a Pop video last week for Olly Murs. I'll post a link when it goes live. He was on X-factor apparently.
So what has happened to her? Well, after a bit of humming and ha'ing I have Part exchanged her for a 207cc at my local Robins & Day! (I toyed with the RCZ, but the finance was a little scary). Best of all, R&D are going to give her a little makeover and then exhibit her at Coventry HQ and in showrooms around the UK! I am so pleased that they were so excited to get her.
So I'd like to thank all of you on here for your support and advice over the years, and it was good to meet a few of you at the shows etc. and Gary C, you are a star! I'll try and upload a few pics etc, and hope to make another meet soon. Happy motoring. Luke. Ps I fixed the hot start problem too.. will post up details later.
